Whats next.

Here is my first ever "blog" post. If you read through my articles you will see that there are still a few questions that are just burning inside me. The fact is I have barely touched the surface. I would still like to know Fredrick and Rebecca Pollard's final resting place. I have checked with the archivist in Cooke County and they don't have any record of their final resting places. I found a reference to Fredrick Pollard being buried in Hood cemetery, but that the headstone was gone. I have a problem with the source though. The author stated that she got an email from a granddaughter, but she didn't provide the text of the email, nor the grand daughter's name. Unfortunately, the author has since passed away, so I can't ask her for any details about the email. You would think Fred and Rebecca would be buried close to each other, so I think if I can find Rebecca’s final resting place I might be able to find Fred.

I am thinking of making another trip to Cooke County. I can look through their newspaper archives to see if they have any mention of Rebecca Pollard’s passing. In addition, Nathan had a sister that lived until 1974. I can check if she left any oral histories that might list her parent’s final resting place. In addition, I don’t know exactly when the Pollard’s moved to Cooke County, so its possible Nathan moved here at a young age, so its possible they might have some school records for him.

Speaking of school records, I also plan to make a trip to Altus OK. All the son’s of Nathan Pollard went to school there at one point, so I can probably find some school records there. Maybe even some school photos? While there I can visit the grave of James Pollard, Nathan’s brother. They had to be close since they always seems to live next to each other.

And of course there is Corpus Christi itself. That’s about a 6 hour drive for me, so its not a trip I can make in a day. Yet I still would like to see the final resting place of Nathan Pollard. Plus, maybe I can find where the store he worked at was located out while there.

What does everyone think? Please comment and let me know what you are interested in and where you think I should go next. Also, please post any questions you have that I might have missed. What are some things you are interested in?
